Eddie Money Releases Statement About Lawsuit With Former Drummer Glenn Symmonds

As his attorneys seek to have a former drummer’s lawsuit thrown out of court, Eddie Money has posted a lengthy message to fans on Facebook about his issues with Glenn Symmonds.

Symmonds is suing Money for unlawful termination and has also accused Money of sexually harassing his girlfriend. In the posting Money calls the allegations “preposterous and downright evil” and writes that Glenn Symmonds and his girlfriend are trying to damage my reputation, not only as a professional entertainer but as a husband and father.”

Symmonds contends that Money fired him last year because of his age and health issues, including bladder cancer and a back injury; Money writes that he helped to raise “thousands of dollars” to help Symmonds in his battle and that Symmonds was dismissed as part of a larger band overhaul.

Money and Symmonds have known each other since 1974 and first worked together on a song for the soundtrack of “Americathon” in 1979. Symmonds joined Money’s band after the release of the 1986 album “Can’t Hold Back.”
