Arsenio Hall Sues Sinead O’Connor for $5million for Prince Drug Claims

Comedian Arsenio Hall slaps Sinead O’Connor with $5MILLION lawsuit calling her a ‘desperate attention-seeker’ for claiming he’d ‘supplied Prince with drugs’ and ‘spiked her at Eddie Murphy’s house’

Arsenio Hall is suing Sinead O’Connor for $5million after she alleged earlier this week that he had supplied Prince with drugs for ‘decades’ and once ‘spiked’ her at Eddie Murphy’s house.

She made the claims in a Facebook post on Monday, and followed them up with a long rant Tuesday in which she said Hall had given her a spiked joint at some point years before.

The lawsuit, filed Thursday morning, calls O’Connor a ‘desperate attention-seeker’ and categorically denies that Hall – best known as host of ‘The Arsenio Hall Show’ – ever supplied Prince with hard drugs or gave O’Connor a spiked joint, TMZ reported.

Accusation: O’Connor made the claims on Facebook Monday. Hall’s lawsuit calls the claims about his relationship with Prince ‘despicable, fabricated… unhinged internet rants’

‘The malicious statements made by O’Connor are absolutely false, and O’Connor’s heinous accusations that Hall engaged in this criminal conduct are despicable, fabricated lies,’ the suit said, according to The Wrap

‘O’Connor is now known perhaps as much for her bizarre, unhinged internet rants as for her music,’ it added.

The suit was filed by Hall’s lawyers, Marty Singer and Lynda Goldman, and also says that Hall hasn’t had any contact with O’Connor in 25 years.

The celebrity clash kicked off Monday, when O’Connor posted a Facebook message that said ‘Anyone imagining Prince was not a long-time hard drug user is living in cloud cuckoo land.’

The post went on to claim that Hall – whom she characterized as ‘Prince’s and Eddie Murphy’s b****’ – had supplied the diminutive singer with drugs ‘over the decades,’ and also ‘spiked me years ago at Eddie Murphy’s house.’

She also claimed she had told all of this to the Carver County Sheriff’s Office, which is investigating Prince’s death.

The day after she posted a much longer screed, in which she alleged Hall had argued with her after she had refused to attend the Grammys, and that he gave her the spiked joint as a pretend peace offering, then laughed as she collapsed.

It is not clear when the alleged even was supposed to have taken place.

Guest: Prince was a guest on Arsenio Hall’s revived talk show (pictured), which ran from 2013-2014. O’Connor was a guest on the original 1989-1994 run. Hall’s suit says he hasn’t met O’Connor in 25 years

The suit was filed the same day that Carver County Sheriff’s office announced it had indeed found a drug in Prince’s body – but that the drug was Percocet.

A possible addition to prescription drugs is now at the top of the list for investigators, who now include the DEA and FBI.

Local officials told ABC that the feds had become involved so that the investigation could cover the multiple states he had visited before his death.

O’Connor first shot to fame in 1990 with her arrangement of ‘Nothing Compares 2 U,’ a song Prince had written for his side project, The Family.

But she didn’t meet the singer until after the song went number-one worldwide – and it didn’t go well, she told Norwegian station NRK.

‘He summoned me to his house – and it’s foolish to do this to an Irish woman – he said he didn’t like me saying bad words in my interviews. So I told him to f*** off,’ she said.

‘He got quite violent,’ she claimed. ‘I had to escape out of his house at five in the morning. He packed a bigger punch than mine.’
