Nick Ferris, former head of global development allegedly attacked the woman in his New York City apartment twice in February and March of 2013
A former saleswoman at Bloomberg has launched a number of shocking accusations against the company, including that she was drugged and raped by a high-level executive.
Nick Ferris, former head of global development allegedly attacked the woman in his New York City apartment twice in February and March of 2013, and got her addicted to pain pills, according to a civil rights suit filed in a Bronx court.
Ferris, however, is not facing charges for rape – the suit names him, Bloomberg LP and former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg as defendants in the suit seeking $20 million for civil rights violations, creating a hostile work environment and sexual discrimination.
Court documents state that the woman was subjected to ‘sexual assault, rape, molestation, unwanted sexual advances, contact, communication, innuendos, retaliatory action, and quid pro quo harassment’.
The saleswoman, who is only identified as Margaret Doe, is now 26 years old, and began working at Bloomberg in September of 2012 – which the lawsuit refers to as a ‘top-down culture that is blatantly hostile towards women’.
The lawsuit alleges that the first attack happened following a business dinner – after which Ferris invited the young woman to his apartment, along with his girlfriend.
The lawsuit details Ferris’ aggressive pushing of narcotic use onto the victim, claiming that he would leave pills for her around theBloomberg office in a mailbox, Tic Tac box, and a book
They drank vodka and smoked marijuana, after which Doe went to sleep in a guest bedroom. She awoke in the middle of the night to Ferris standing over her, and she ‘was lying half-off the side of the bed with Ferris holding her legs up towards him,’ court papers state.
After that, she ‘recalls looking down and seeing the dress she wore to work that day flipped up, only half covering her, and her underwear and tights removed.’
Following the first attack, Ferris reportedly called the young woman for a one-on-one meeting, where he told her that he wanted to ‘continue to have unprotected sex with her,’ NY Post reported.
He told her that she should use condoms with any boyfriend that she had, because he was also having unprotected sex with his girlfriend.
The lawsuit goes on to detail Ferris’ aggressive pushing of narcotic use onto the victim, claiming that he would leave pills for her around the office in a mailbox, Tic Tac box, and a book.
On one occasion, he mailed pain pills to her at her parent’s home in Connecticut disguised as a Christmas present.
The suit names Bloomberg LP and former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, right, as defendants and alleges civil rights violations, a hostile work environment and sexual discrimination. It seeks $20 million in damages
In addition to the rape and drug allegations, the lawsuit also asserts a bizarre claim that Ferris invited himself to the woman’s mother’s 50th birthday party. He then took photos of childhood pictures of the young woman at the home, and photoshopped a childhood photo of himself into the picture.
He later sent the woman the photoshopped image. He also reportedly sent her a photo of his bandaged penis following a circumcision surgery, telling her it was especially sensitive to ‘good vaginas’.
The lawsuit also claims that he sent the woman countless inappropriate emails over the course of a year, once saying: ‘You are beautiful, you are stunning. You look incredible naked.’
Doe made complaints to HR, who reportedly ignored her requests to move desks.
Ferris was fired from Bloomberg in December 2015 after a review of thousands of his emails revealed their sexual relationship.
The victim was ‘persistently tormented [Doe] both physically and psychologically,’ by Ferris according to the lawsuit.
The lawsuit states that she was placed on indefinite medical leave from Bloomberg and qualified for disability benefits due to the trauma she experienced at the company.
After being fired from Bloomberg, Ferris began working at a Texas financial education company, Simpler Trading. The company told the Post on Friday that he was no longer employed with them.
