Bombshell Lawsuit! Casey Kasem’s Daughter Suing Ex Biz Partner for ‘Ransom’ Scam

The daughter of the late radio legend, Casey Kasem , has headed to court accusing a filmmaker of trying to extort her for $100,000 RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned.

Kerri Kasem and the charity she founded, Kasem Cares, filed suit against Cameron Glenar and his company Rose Street Productions , claiming that he is refusing to hand over footage for the documentary they worked on focusing on elder abuse.

In the exclusive court documents obtained by Radar, she has slapped her former partner with a Federal Lawsuit demanding a judge order him to turn over her material.

Kerri describes the situation her family went through in 2013, with her father’s then-wife Jean Kasem preventing his children from seeing him and the legal battles that followed. Casey’s daughter

In 2015, she entered into a partnership with Glenar and his company to jointly produce a low budget feature documentary exposing the growing problem of elder abuse across the country.

She believed the film’s purpose was to “tell the story of Kasem’s struggles to locate her ailing father Casey Kasem and her advocacy efforts since then,” the documents state.

She says exposing the problem of elder abuse was her ”primary goal of producing the documentary,” and Glenar was on board as well. All revenues from the documentary were to be used for charitable donations through Kasem Cares

In the documents, Kerris states that she fulfilled her end of the deal with the creative, promotion and financial standpoint. However, earlier this year she became aware of Glenar’s intentions suddenly and inexplicably changing. She said his new goal for the documentary was not to raise awareness but that he was motivated by greed.

Kerri claims that he attempted to extract a quick six figure payday from a charitable organization that only wanted to use the film to promote its cause. Glenar told Kasem if she wanted to move forward with the project he would need a $100,000 check.

Instead, Kerri is refusing to pay the “ransom” for the project and the footage shot and filed a lawsuit claiming Glenar was in breach of contract and is asking the judge to have him give her the footage they shot.

She is also asking for an injunction prohibiting Glenar and his company from releasing the documentary along with unspecified damages for his actions.
