A class action lawsuit has been filed against the City of Fresno over discolored water.  Eyewitness News has the exclusive new details on the lawsuit involving some homes in Northeast Fresno.  Three households that have high levels of lead coming out of their taps filed the suit Friday.

The homeowners are blaming the city of Fresno and it’s public utility department, claiming they made mistakes in blending surface and ground water that caused their galvanized pipes to corrode prematurely.  They also claim the city was negligent and non-compliant when it came to complaints about discolored water made more than a decade ago, and now want the city to replace their plumbing.  The two companies that installed water meters in the homes are also being sued, accused of improper installation which may have caused additional corrosion.

Ray Boucher- the attorney representing the homeowners- and his team, will be in Clovis Saturday, September 10th to speak with other residents who may want to take part in the class action or receive legal advice. That meeting will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn at 2pm.
