KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Communications giant Comcast is facing a lawsuit in Missouri.
This is a class-action lawsuit, seeking compensation and punitive damages for all Missouri Comcast customers who purchased the protection plan after August of 2011.
Attorney Kenneth McClain, with Humphrey, Farrington & McClain, alleges that Comcast sold a service protection plan that did not cover wiring inside the walls of the home.
“This is outright fraud and an abuse of power,” McClain said.
Comcast subscribers’ monthly bill as a plan that covers all technician service calls, including repairs to or replacement of inside wiring.
Mcclain says “when subscribers use the plan, they learn from the technician that the plan does not actually include the wiring inside the walls of their home.”
McClain calls this “deceptive,” and is seeking compensation and punitive damages for subscribers.
