Family of Patagonia Man Killed by Officers File Wrongful Death Lawsuit

PATAGONIA – Family members of a Patagonia man that was shot and killed by police officers filed a wrongful death lawsuit on Monday.

Brent Bowdon was killed in July 2018 during an encounter with Lake Havasu City Police Officers.

Authorities were responding to reports of a possible domestic disturbance.

Officers said Bowdon approached them with one hand behind his back and refused to listen to their commands.

Bowdon was shot multiple times by officers and was pronounced dead at the scene.

In the lawsuit, Bowdon’s wife said she repeatedly told officers there were no guns in the home and that her husband was unarmed.

It also said he never made a verbal threat, movement, or gesture before he was killed.

Bowdon’s family’s lawsuit names three Lake Havasu City Police Officers and their spouses for financial compensation.

The family also requested a jury trial.
