Owners of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus units afflicted by the alleged design defect dubbed “Touch IC Disease” won’t get much aid from the Genius Bar, but a U.S. law firm is looking to help users take Apple to court.

After filing a class-action lawsuit against Apple on Saturday for not fixing iPhones with Touch IC Disease, McCuneWright LLP says it’s searching for more iPhone 6 owners who have suffered from the defect.

Touch IC disease causes gray, flickering bars to appear at the top of the afflicted devices’ screens and can bring about a loss of touch sensitivity. The problem appears to be much more common in iPhone 6 Plus units because it’s easier to bend and damage the logic board in the larger phones. However, if you’ve had any iPhone that’s suffered from the problem, you could potentially qualify to take part in the lawsuit.

“If you or someone you know has an iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 plus and experienced issues with the touchscreen, please contact us,” McCuneWright LLP posted on its website today, along with consultation form.

Independent repair shops have reportedly been flooded with requests in the last few months to fix devices that suffer from Touch IC Disease. Genius Bar specialists have reportedly told customers that nothing can be done to fix the problem because the iPhones are already out of warranty.

Apple appears to be aware of the problem, as its support forums are flooded with complaints. Yet the company has not released a statement on the growing controversy.
