Lawsuit Filed Against Noodles & Company Over Credit Card Breach

BROOMFIELD, Colo. — Several banks and other financial institutions are alleging the Broomfield-based Noodles & Company failed to take steps to prevent a massive data breach earlier this year.

A class-action federal lawsuit was filed Tuesday against the fast-casual chain relating to the breach.

Noodles officials warned customers in May that their credit card processor reported unusual activity to customers’ credit and bank cards. The breach began around January 2016.

The lawsuit was filed on behalf of credit unions, banks, and other financial institutions that claim they have suffered injury as a result of the security breach.

The suit alleges that Noodles failed to implement or maintain adequate data security measures for customer information.

Denver7 reached out to Noodles & Company for comment, but they have yet to return comment.
