The Levin, Papantonio, Mitchell, Rafferty & Proctor law firm in Pensacola has won more than $140 million in damages for a man who blamed his heart attack on a medication.

According to the Levin firm, Jeffrey Konrad of Memphis, Tennessee, used the testosterone replacement therapy AndroGel. His legal team, including Troy Rafferty of the Levin firm, argued that the manufacturer, AbbVie, misrepresented the treatment’s safety.

In July, a jury awarded $150 million dollars in damages to another patient, Jessie Mitchell, who suffered a heart attack after using AndroGel for four years.

Rafferty says, the two verdicts “send a strong message to this company about its conduct and the need to change its behavior.”
