Michael Jackson’s Nephews Hit Back at “vicious” Sexual Abuse Reports With $100m Lawsuit

Jackson’s nephews announce legal action over recent Neverland pornography claims.

Michael Jackson’s nephews have sued Radar Online for libel over sexual abuse reports published last month, which they describe as a “vicious and unrelenting attack” on the late singer.

In June, Radar Online published police documents from a 2003 raid on Jackson’s Neverland Ranch in California, which detailed items including pornography and nude images of children, some dating back to the 1800s. Jackson’s estate quickly slammed the claims, calling them “false” and stating that they were “no doubt timed to the anniversary of Michael’s passing.”

Radar has tried to profit by launching a vicious and unrelenting attack on [Jackson] based on claims that, years ago, he was guilty of sexual abuse, even though, at the time, he was found ‘not guilty’ of that very charge… Radar represents its ‘reports’ as ‘new’ and based on official ‘Detective Reports.’ Not only have those Detective Reports been available to the public for many years, Radar has misrepresented what the Reports say,” writes the Jacksons’ lawyer Bert Fields in the $100 million lawsuit filed on Wednesday (July 27).

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the lawsuit says Radar reported that Jackson sexually abused young boys, that his nephews knew about his alleged crimes, and that their uncle bought them new cars in an attempt to silence them. “In doing so, Radar falsely accused plaintiffs of committing a felony by participating in the concealment of criminal activity on the part of Michael Jackson and of being bribed to do so,” reads the complaint.

Jackson’s nephews Taj, TJ, and Taryll call Radar’s statements “entirely false and defamatory,” while the complaint writes that the Jacksons demanded a correction from the publication, but were refused.

The Jacksons’ lawyer also says that reports stating “Michael Jackson molested his own nephews…and silenced them with threats and gifts” spread following the publication of Radar’s stories.
