Announcing a Class Action Settlement Involving All Persons Who Were Sent a Text Message by Uber Technologies, Inc. Between December 31, 2010 and August 17, 2017

A proposed settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit against Uber Technologies, Inc. (“Uber”) regarding text messages allegedly sent in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, 47 U.S.C. § 227 et seq. (“TCPA”), from December 31, 2010 to August 17, 2017 (“Class Period”).  The case is Vergara, et al. v. Uber Technologies, Inc. Case No. 1:15-CV-06942 (N.D. Ill.). Qualcomm Sued for Not Being Competitive Enough

A putative class action lawsuit filed on March 16 in federal court charges that Qualcomm has an unlawful monopoly in baseband processors (also called modem chipsets). Apple Has Launched a New Lawsuit Against Qualcomm in the U.K.

On January 20 Apple sued Qualcomm for $1 Billion claiming unfair exclusionary tactics and charging excessive royalties and on January 22 Patently Apple covered the full lawsuit where Apple revealed secret licensing agreements and more. On January 25 Apple took their war against Qualcomm to Beijing China. Today Apple has launched another lawsuit against Qualcomm, this time in the U.K.
