Floyd Bledsoe’s Federal Lawsuit Offers New Theory on 1999 Murder of Camille Arfmann

Buried and briefly mentioned within a federal lawsuit filed this month is a new theory on a 16-year-old question: Why was Camille Arfmann killed? Arfmann stepped off a school bus in Oskaloosa on Nov. 5, 1999, and was found dead less than three days later. The 14-year-old had been shot four times and buried beneath garbage in the northern outskirts of the small Jefferson County town.


Cleveland Settles Lawsuit Over Tamir Rice Shooting for $6M

The city on Monday reached a $6 million settlement in a lawsuit over the death of Tamir Rice, a 12-year-old black boy shot by a white police officer while playing with a pellet gun outside a recreation center. An order filed in U.S. District Court in Cleveland said the city will pay out $3 million this year and $3 million the next. There was no admission of wrongdoing in the settlement.
