Hearing Set for Wrongful Death Lawsuit Filed Against Tupelo

A federal magistrate has set a Dec. 4, 2017, hearing for the wrongful death lawsuit filed by the family of Antwun “Ronnie” Shumpert. Shumpert’s family filed the $35 million lawsuit after he was shot and killed June 18 by Tupelo police officer Tyler Cook.


Shumpert Attorney Files Federal Suit Against Tupelo

A lawsuit was officially filed in federal court Thursday alleging wrongful death and constitutional violations in the June 18 shooting of a local man by a Tupelo Police Department officer after a foot chase.
