SEATTLE – A King County family has now filed a lawsuit against the makers of a tainted SoyNut Butter, after their young daughter became sick with E. coli.
Food safety attorney Bill Marler said the girl suffered a potentially life-threatening complication from an E. coli infection linked to I.M. Healthy brand SoyNut Butter.
He said she’s now recovering at home.
The lawsuit named the I.M. Healthy company as well as the manufacturer, Dixie Dew Products. I.M. Healthy has since recalled its SoyNut Butter products.
It marks the fourth lawsuit filed against the company in the SoyNut Butter E. coli outbreak. The outbreak has sickened 16 people in nine states including Washington, Oregon and California.
