ALBANY, N. Y. — A lawsuit filed Monday by the New York state attorney general alleges three Domino’s franchisees underpaid workers based on payroll reports, according to a story by the Associated Press.
“We’ve uncovered rampant wage violations at Domino’s franchise stores, and intensive involvement by Domino’s headquarters that caused many of these violations,” Attorney General Eric Schneiderman said Tuesday. “At some point, a company has to take responsibility for its actions and for its workers’ well-being.”
The lawsuit was filed in New York state Supreme Court in Manhattan and alleges the three franchises and the company, as joint employers, underpaid workers at least $565,000 at 10 New York stores, the AP reports.
The Ann Arbor-based pizza chain is the largest pizza chain in the U.S., and operates more than 12,500 stores in 80 countries.
