A settlement has been reached in Stormy Daniels’ lawsuit alleging that her former lawyer acted as a “puppet” for Trump fixer Michael Cohen in an attempt to get her to go on Fox News and deny having an affair with President Trump.

Citing federal court documents, CNN reports that Daniels and her former lawyer Keith Davidson have reached and executed a settlement. Daniels and Cohen have agreed to a settlement in principle that is being finalized. Details of the settlement have not been released.

The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court in June 2018, alleged that Davidson engaged in a breach of fiduciary duty to Daniels, while Cohen aided and abetted his efforts to do so.

In October 2016, Davidson worked on Daniels’ behalf to broker an agreement with Cohen that provided her with $130,000 in exchange for keeping silent about her alleged 2006 affair with Trump.

Per the complaint filed last June, Davidson “continued to regularly communicate” with Cohen in the following months without Daniels’ knowledge. On January 17, 2018, the day that In Touch Magazine published an old interview in which Daniels discussed her alleged liaison with Trump, the two men discussed booking her for an appearance with Fox host Sean Hannity so she could deny her previous claims.

Davidson hit back last year by filing two lawsuits: one against Daniels and her then-lawyer Michael Avenatti for defamation, and one against Cohen for allegedly illegally recording their phone calls.

Daniels’ defamation lawsuits against Cohen and Trump were dismissed last year.
